What is a Funeral Celebrant?

A Celebrant is a person who is trained and certified to meet the needs of families during their time of loss.

A Celebrant serves by providing a funeral service that is personalized to reflect the personality, attributes, and life-style of the deceased.

Why use a Certified Celebrant?
The training for Celebrants seeks to provide the most comprehensive and sensitive training available. It is important that families know they are being served by someone who understands the process and is prepared to offer the very best service they can.

What does a Certified Celebrant offer the family?
A Celebrant has been specifically trained to design a service for your loved one that is completely personal incorporating those unique stories, songs, and experiences that defined the loved one.

A Celebrant will ask the family to share information about their loved one to include the history of the deceased along with the family members’ favorite memories, sayings, stories, jokes, etc. – as much of a Biography as they want to share. The more information the family gives – the better the Eulogy will be.

The Celebrant will design a service that reflects and memorializes the life of your loved one.

When would families use Sharon's services?

when there is no church or minister to call on

when they want a life tribute service instead of a religious one

when they want to do part of the service themselves

When following a death the family wants to provide part of the service themselves, Sharon will consult with the family contact person and prepare the service accordingly. If someone wants to contribute to the service, but feels they would be too emotional to personally present their contribution, Sharon encourages those folks to write out what they want to say and Sharon will be happy to read it for them during the service.
